Okay, so I’ve been messing around with tarot cards lately, just for fun, you know? And I wanted to really feel what each card meant, not just memorize some keywords. So, I decided to do this little experiment with the Ace of Cups, focusing on it as a representation of feelings.
I started by just, like, clearing my head. I sat down, took a few deep breaths, and got myself all centered. I wanted to be super open to whatever vibes the card gave off.
My Ace of Cups Experiment
I shuffled the deck, thinking about feelings in general – happy, sad, everything in between. Then, I pulled the Ace of Cups. I didn’t just glance at it; I really looked at it. I mean, I spent a good few minutes just staring at the image, letting it soak in.

First thing I noticed? It’s all about overflowing, right? Like, this cup is just filled with water, and it’s spilling over the sides. Immediately, I felt this sense of abundance. Not abundance like money or stuff, but like, an abundance of emotions. A fullness, maybe. It felt good.
Then, I focused on the water itself. Water’s always seemed so fluid and changing to me. It felt like the card was saying my emotions are okay to be just like this: flowing, changing, and powerful in a way. Sometimes your feelings can be wild, other times they can be very calm. It can be very refreshing to think of it this way!
- New Beginnings: I started thinking about how this could relate to new relationships, or even just a new phase in an existing one. A fresh start, emotionally speaking.
- Deep Connections: The overflowing cup made me think of really deep connections with others. Maybe those moments where you just click with someone.
- Feeling all the Feels: I also got this sense of, like, being open to all emotions, not just the “good” ones. The Ace of Cups felt very accepting.
It was so cool. After that exercise I felt much more intuned with my inner feelings. I also felt much more healed, and felt a deeper connection with the card than ever before. It was like I unlocked a code to understanding the card in a new way.
Afterward, I journaled about it all. Just scribbled down whatever came to mind, trying to capture that feeling of emotional fullness and flow. It was surprisingly powerful! I’m definitely going to keep doing this with other cards.
