Okay, so I had this crazy idea to create something called “Rainbow Dream,” and I just had to try it out. I didn’t really have a solid plan, just a vague picture in my head of swirling colors and, well, a dreamy vibe. I figured, why not just dive in and see what happens?
First, I gathered my materials. Since I wasn’t sure where I was going with this, I just grabbed a bunch of stuff I had lying around:
- Some old canvases I’d been meaning to reuse.
- All my paints, even the ones that were almost dried out.
- A couple of brushes that had seen better days.
- Some glitter, because, why not? Everything’s better with glitter.
- Some water and some rags.
I started by just slapping some paint on the canvas. No rhyme or reason, just throwing colors down and seeing what they looked like together. I used a lot of blues and purples, because those felt “dreamy” to me, and then I added in some pinks and yellows for contrast.

Mixing and Mushing
Then, I started blending the colors together, sometimes with a brush, sometimes just with my fingers. It was messy, and honestly, it looked kind of terrible for a while. I kept at it, though, adding more paint, smudging things around, and just generally making a mess. I even sprinkled some glitter on in a few places while the paint was still wet.
There were moments where I thought, “This is a disaster, I should just throw it away.” But I decided to push through, to see if I could salvage something from the chaos. I took a step back a few times, squinted at the canvas, and tried to see if I could find any shapes or patterns that I liked.
Finding the Dream
Slowly, something started to emerge. The colors started to blend in a way that actually looked kind of cool, like a swirling galaxy or a tie-dye explosion. I used a slightly damp rag to wipe away some of the paint in certain areas, creating lighter patches that looked almost like clouds.
I kept layering and adjusting, adding more glitter here and there, until I finally felt like I had something I was happy with. It wasn’t exactly what I’d imagined at the beginning, but it had a dreamy, colorful quality that I really liked. It really was a “Rainbow Dream”.
So, that’s my “Rainbow Dream” adventure. It was messy, unpredictable, and a whole lot of fun. It taught me that sometimes, you just have to let go of your expectations and embrace the chaos. You might be surprised by what you create!
