Okay, so I’ve been messing around with tarot cards lately, trying to get a better handle on the meanings, you know? Today, I decided to focus on “Two of Wands” and how it relates to feelings. It’s kinda tricky, so I figured I’d walk through my little experiment and see what sticks.
Digging into the Two of Wands
First, I grabbed my trusty Rider-Waite deck. I like the pictures, makes it easier for me to connect with the cards. I pulled out the Two of Wands and just stared at it for a bit. You got this dude standing on a castle wall, holding a little globe, looking out at the world. He’s got one wand planted firm, and he’s holding the other one. It screams “planning” and “looking ahead,” right?
Then I did the obvious – hit up the internet for some basic meanings. Most places say stuff like “future planning,” “decisions,” “long-term goals,” blah blah blah. But I wanted feelings, not just actions, so I had to think a bit harder.

My Brainstorm Session
I started to write out my thoughts. First I imagined, what if I pulled this card asking about how someone feels about me? My initial ideas were:
- Anticipation: They’re thinking about a future with me, maybe? Like, not just a next date, but something more.
- Weighing Options: Maybe they’re not sure yet. They see potential, but they’re still considering other things in their life.
- Feeling Powerful: it’s also means this person is feeling in control and ready to make a move.
- Longing for Adventure: it means they are ready to explore with me, and want to open the world with me.
I tired to feel, and I realize it’s not a super passionate, fiery card, like some of the Cups cards, the Two of Wands felt more… thoughtful. It’s like, they’re not head-over-heels (yet?), but they’re definitely considering it. They’re feeling that pull of potential, that excitement of what could be.
Putting It All Together
So, after all this, my takeaway on the Two of Wands as feelings is this: it’s about potential and the early stages of planning something significant. It’s not a “love at first sight” card, but more like “I see something here, and I’m figuring out how to make it happen.” It’s a feeling of controlled excitement, anticipation, and maybe a little bit of healthy uncertainty as they weigh their options.
I recorded all my process and conculsion on my blog, I think it’s helpful for me, and others, I will keep dig on and share more of my practice record for Tarot!
