Hey guys, it’s your boy back again with another project. Today, we’re diving into something a bit different, I call it the “3113” project. So, let’s get started, shall we?
It all began a few weeks ago when I was just trying to figure out the cheapest way to get from point A to point B. I mean, who likes paying tolls, right? So I thought, there’s got to be a better way. I started by looking up stuff about toll charges, how much gas I was gonna use, the whole nine yards. I just wanted to see how much dough I was actually spending on these trips.
First things first, I grabbed my notebook and started jotting down all the places I usually go. Then, I hit up the internet, looking for any info on toll roads around these areas. I found some websites that were supposed to help with this, but honestly, they were kind of a pain to use. So many clicks, and the information wasn’t that clear, you know?

- Spent a good chunk of time gathering info on toll roads.
- Noticed most online tools were clunky.
- Decided to simplify the process myself.
So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I started by making a simple table. On one side, I listed all my usual destinations. On the other, I started filling in the toll info, the distance, and estimated fuel costs. I even broke it down by which roads had tolls and which didn’t. It was a bit of work, but it was already starting to look clearer than those websites.
Then, I had a bit of a “Eureka!” moment. I thought, what if I could just map all this out visually? I remembered messing around with some free mapping tools online a while back. So, I started playing around with those, marking the toll roads in one color and the free roads in another. Seeing it all laid out like that made so much more sense.
But I didn’t stop there. I also had this idea to make it even easier to find the cheapest route, especially when I’m in a hurry. So, I figured, why not add some color-coded markers for different price ranges? Green for the cheapest, yellow for the mid-range, and red for those pricey ones. It was like creating my own little cheat sheet for road trips.
Making It Even Better
Once I had the basic map sorted, I started thinking, what else could I add to make this even more useful? Then, the NBA playoffs started. I thought, what if I made a tool with some game content that fans might find interesting? So I started adding the new Steph Era to the project, which is just for fun, you know?
And then, I was thinking, what if I started adding more fun things to this project? I stumbled upon this thing about a certain airline offering free snacks and drinks. I was like, “Hey, that’s pretty cool!” So I started to expand my project scope, hoping to build a huge collection of these things.
It’s still a work in progress, but it’s already saved me a few bucks on tolls. Plus, it’s been a fun little side project. I’m thinking of adding more features down the line, maybe even turning it into a simple website or something. Who knows?
Anyway, that’s the story behind my “3113” project so far. Hope you guys found it interesting. Let me know if you have any ideas for it, or if you’ve tried something similar. Catch you in the next one!
