Okay, so I’ve been getting REALLY into tarot lately. Not just reading the cards, but like, really digging into the art and the stories behind the different decks. And you know what I stumbled upon? Tarot decks based on mythology! I mean, it makes perfect sense, right? Tarot is all about archetypes and symbols, and mythology is FULL of that stuff.
My Deep Dive into Mythological Tarot
First, I just started Googling. You know, “tarot decks mythology,” “mythological tarot,” that kind of thing. I found a few blog posts and some online shops, and I started making a list of decks that caught my eye. I made a really basic list, just names at first.
Then, I went down the rabbit hole. I started looking up each deck individually. I wanted to see the artwork, read reviews, and get a feel for what myths they were based on. Some were based on Greek mythology (which I love), some on Egyptian, some on Norse… it was amazing!

Next, I tried to watch some youtube video, and I love to see what people really thinking about those decks, how those decks look like when real people holding it.
After I picked serveral decks I really interested, I start to search where I could buy it, usually I use Amazon, but I found out some of those decks are so rare and hard to find. Finally I decide to buy some of them, it’s kind of like collect them all!
Getting My Hands Dirty (or, My Wallet Empty)
The next step, obviously, was to, uh, acquire some of these decks. Let’s just say my bank account is not thrilled with me right now. But hey, it’s an investment in my spiritual growth and artistic appreciation, right? …Right?
I started with the Olympus Tarot, because, like I said, Greek mythology is my jam. The artwork is gorgeous – all bold lines and vibrant colors. And it really captures the essence of the gods and goddesses. Holding the cards, I felt like I was connecting with these ancient stories on a whole new level.
After I get my first mythology tarot, I can not wait to open and use it, and it does not let me down, the connection, the feeling, are so good, I think I will keep collect those kind of tarots

Sharing the Love (and the Obsession)
So, that’s where I’m at right now. I’m basically obsessed. I’m spending my evenings poring over these cards, reading about the myths they represent, and just generally geeking out. I’ve even started doing readings for my friends, using the different decks to tap into different energies.
I’m thinking of doing a follow-up, maybe showing off some of the individual cards and talking about the specific myths they’re based on. What do you guys think? Let me know if you’re interested!
