Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with something a little different – comparing Oracle cards and Tarot cards. I’ve dabbled in both, but never really put them head-to-head. It’s kinda like comparing apples and, well, maybe not oranges, but something a bit more… mystical.
First, I grabbed my favorite Oracle deck. It’s this one with beautiful nature imagery, and the messages are always super positive and uplifting. I shuffled the cards, really trying to connect with them and put my energy into the deck, just thinking, “Okay, show me what I need to know today.” Then, I pulled a single card.
The Oracle’s Wisdom
The card I got was all about embracing change and trusting the universe. Pretty standard, but always a good reminder. It felt very… gentle. Like a warm hug and a pat on the back.

Next up, the Tarot! I used my trusty Rider-Waite deck. It’s the classic, you know? I did the same thing – shuffled, focused my intention (same question: “What do I need to know today?”), and then I pulled three cards this time. I figured, why not go for a little more detail with the Tarot?
The Tarot’s Tale
- Card 1 (Past): The Empress. Okay, this resonated! It spoke to nurturing and creativity, which is definitely something I’ve been focusing on lately.
- Card 2 (Present): The Five of Pentacles. Oof. This one’s a bit tougher. It talks about hardship, feeling left out in the cold, maybe some financial worries. Yeah, I can’t deny there’s some of that going on.
- Card 3 (Future): The Star. Ah, much better! This is a card of hope, inspiration, and renewed faith. So, things might be a little rough now, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
So, here’s the thing. The Oracle card was nice, but it felt a little… general. The Tarot, on the other hand, felt much more specific and dug a bit deeper. It acknowledged the not-so-great stuff, but also offered a path forward. It was more like a conversation, a story unfolding.
It’s not really about which one is “better.” It’s more about what you’re looking for. If you want a quick, positive boost, Oracle cards are great. But if you’re ready to delve into the nitty-gritty and get some real, sometimes challenging, insights, Tarot might be the way to go. I was looking for something more direct. The Tarot’s three-card was a great result. Today, I enjoyed learning about them both and I will use them again!
