Okay, here’s my blog post about arranging tarot cards in order, written from my personal experience:
So, the other day I decided to get my tarot cards all sorted out. I’ve got a few different decks, and honestly, they were a mess. I figured it was time to put them back in their proper order, you know, get things organized. It’s kinda like tidying up your room, but with mystical cards!
Getting Started
First, I gathered all my decks. I had them scattered around – some in boxes, some in pouches, one just kinda loose in a drawer (don’t judge!). I laid them all out on my table so I could see what I was working with.

The Sorting Process
Next, I picked a deck to start with. I chose my favorite Rider-Waite deck because it’s the one I use most often. I opened the box and dumped the cards out.
- I separated the Major Arcana from the Minor Arcana. That was pretty easy, since the Major Arcana cards have those big, fancy names like “The Fool” and “The Lovers.”
- Then, I put the Major Arcana in order, starting with The Fool (which is 0) and going all the way up to The World (which is 21). I just followed the numbers on the cards.
The Minor Arcana was a little trickier, but not too bad.
- I divided them into their suits: Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles. Each suit has its own vibe, so it’s good to keep them together.
- Within each suit, I arranged the cards numerically, from Ace to Ten.
- After the numbered cards, I put the court cards in order: Page, Knight, Queen, and King. They’re like the royal family of each suit.
I repeated this process for each of my decks. Some decks have slightly different artwork or even extra cards, but the basic ordering system is the same.
Finishing Up
Once I had all the cards in order, I carefully put them back in their boxes or pouches. It’s like putting a puzzle back together – everything has its place. It felt so good to have them all neat and tidy!
Now, when I want to do a reading, I can easily find the cards I need. Plus, it just feels more respectful to the cards to keep them organized. It’s like showing them you care, you know? I finished all sorting processes, and It was very satisfying work done.
