Today, I feel like I’m just not in luck. You know those days when everything seems to go wrong? Yeah, that’s the kind of day I had. It all started this morning. I woke up late because my alarm didn’t go off. I swear, I set it last night, but maybe I messed up. Anyway, I rushed to get ready, skipped breakfast, and ran out the door.
When I got to the bus stop, I realized I had forgotten my wallet. Seriously, who forgets their wallet? So, I had to run all the way back home, grab it, and then sprint back to the bus stop. Of course, I missed the bus by like, two seconds. I watched it drive away, feeling super defeated. I decided to just walk to work since the next bus wasn’t for another 30 minutes.
- Woke up late
- Forgot wallet
- Missed the bus
The walk wasn’t too bad, but it definitely wasn’t how I wanted to start my day. I got to work late and my boss gave me that “look”. You know the one. I tried to explain, but it didn’t really matter. Then, I spilled coffee all over my shirt during my first meeting. I spent the rest of the meeting feeling self-conscious and sticky.

The rest of the day was just a series of unfortunate events. I made a mistake on a project I’d been working on, my computer crashed, and I lost a bunch of unsaved work. I even stubbed my toe on my desk. It’s like the universe was conspiring against me.
The climax of my unlucky day
Then came the afternoon. I tried to do something simple to make my self feel better – just check the lottery results I had bought yesterday. After I compared all numbers on my ticket with the result, I found out there is no even one number was matched! I mean, What’s the odd! I just laughed, what else could I do? I headed home, hoping that tomorrow would be a better day. Let’s be real, it couldn’t get much worse.
I’m not sure what I did to deserve such a bad day, but I’m just going to chalk it up to bad luck. Maybe I should avoid black cats and walking under ladders for a while. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day. I mean, it has to be, right?
