Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole “animal spirit” thing lately, and I decided to focus on the gorilla. I mean, who isn’t fascinated by gorillas? They’re powerful, majestic, and have this air of ancient wisdom about them. So, I set out to connect with the gorilla animal spirit, and let me tell you, it was a process.
Getting Started – Grounding Myself
First things first, I needed to get grounded. I’m not exactly a nature-dwelling hermit, so I had to work with what I had. I started by just sitting quietly in my living room, lights dimmed, and some nature sounds playing softly. Nothing fancy, just trying to create a calm space. I closed my eyes and focused on my breathing. In, out, in, out. You know, the basic stuff. I tried to push away all the daily junk floating around in my head – work deadlines, grocery lists, that weird noise my car is making.
The Visualization Journey
Next, I started visualizing a lush, green forest. I imagined the thick canopy overhead, the damp earth under my feet, the sounds of unseen creatures all around. This was surprisingly hard! My mind kept wandering, I started thinking what i needed to do at work. But I kept pulling myself back to the forest. I pictured myself walking slowly, deliberately, through this imagined jungle. I imagined feeling the humidity on my skin, smelling the rich, earthy scent of the undergrowth.

- Keep breathing and being grounded.
- Visualize my body becoming heavier, stronger.
- Felt a sense of protection from the imagination.
Meeting the Gorilla
Then, in my mind’s eye, I saw it – a massive silverback gorilla, sitting peacefully amidst the trees. I didn’t rush towards it. Instead, I just stood there, observing. I tried to feel its presence, its energy. I focused on its powerful build, its calm gaze, the sense of quiet strength it radiated. I imagined it slowly turning its head, acknowledging me. It felt…intense. Not scary, but definitely powerful.
The Connection and What I “Felt”
I didn’t hear any voices or get any cosmic downloads, to be clear. It wasn’t like that. But I did start to feel a shift in my own energy. I felt…more grounded. More present. More aware of my own physical strength. It was like a quiet confidence started to bubble up from within. I spent some time just “being” with the gorilla in my visualization, trying to absorb its essence.
Coming Back and Reflecting
Slowly, I brought myself back to the present, opening my eyes and wiggling my fingers and toes. I felt…different. More centered, somehow. I jotted down a few notes about the experience, trying to capture the feelings and sensations before they faded. I wrote things like “strength,” “presence,” “grounded,” “calm power.”
The Ongoing Practice
Now, I’m not saying I’m suddenly a gorilla whisperer or anything. But this initial experience was definitely impactful. I plan to continue this practice, maybe a few times a week, to see how it evolves. I’m curious to see if I can tap into that sense of grounded strength more consistently in my daily life. I’ll keep you all posted on how it goes! It’s a wild world out there, both internally and externally, and maybe connecting with the gorilla spirit can help me navigate it all a little better.
