Okay, here’s my sharing about hexagram 34:
So, I started to play around with this I Ching thing the other day, specifically hexagram 34. You know, I was curious about all that “power of the great” business. I read a bit about it, and it seemed like everyone’s saying it’s about using strength wisely and all that jazz. I decided I wanted to see what it was all about for myself.
First, I dug into what this hexagram actually represents. Some folks online talked about it being a symbol of, like, really big strength and the right way to use power. That got me thinking – how do I even use power in my everyday life? I’m not exactly ruling a kingdom here.

Then I found this one post, it was all about “Handle With Care.” And it hit me. Maybe this whole “power” thing isn’t just about being the boss or whatever. Maybe it’s about how I handle situations, how I interact with people, you know? Like, am I being pushy, or am I being understanding?
- I started journaling about it. Every time I felt like I was in a position of “power” – even small stuff like deciding what to have for dinner or giving advice to a friend – I wrote it down.
- I noticed I was trying to be more mindful about how I was coming across. Was I being a good listener? Was I considering other people’s feelings? Stuff like that.
- It was kinda weird at first, paying so much attention to these little things. But then, I started to see some changes.
My Realization
I realized that this hexagram, this “power of the great”, isn’t just about big, dramatic displays of strength. It’s about the everyday choices we make and how we treat each other. It’s about being responsible with the influence we have, no matter how small it seems. I’m still figuring it all out, but it’s definitely given me a lot to chew on. And honestly, I think I’m becoming a bit more, I don’t know, chill? Maybe that’s what they mean by using power wisely. Who knew?
