Okay, so, I got this tarot spread thing I wanted to try out. It’s called the “When Hermit Appears” spread, and it’s supposed to help you figure out what’s going on when you’re feeling all introspective and stuff. I saw this title somewhere, “when hermit appear work reading 5 card spread”. I thought, “Hey, that sounds interesting, maybe it will help with my work stress”. So I did it and wanna share how it went down.
Preparation
First, I grabbed my tarot deck. I shuffled the cards while thinking about work and all the stress that’s been going on. You know, just trying to get in the zone. Then, I laid out five cards face down in the shape of a cross, kind of like they showed in the picture I saw online. It looks really formal.
The Reading
- Card 1: This one was at the top, and it represents the “seeker’s energy” or something like that. It showed my energy. When I flipped it, it was the “Eight of Pentacles.” I was like, “Okay, that’s about work and craftsmanship, right?” It felt pretty accurate because I’ve been putting in a lot of effort at my job lately.
- Card 2: This was on the left side. It’s supposed to show “what needs to be released.” I got the “Reversed Tower.” Now, I know the Tower is usually about chaos and upheaval, but reversed? Maybe it means I’m resisting some necessary change. I gotta think about that one some more. Could it be the change of my job?
- Card 3: On the right, we have “what needs to be embraced.” This one was the “Queen of Cups.” I felt like this card was telling me to trust my intuition more and maybe be more compassionate with myself and others at work. The manager’s emotional intelligence related to nurse job satisfaction and retention maybe be a good direction. It makes sense because I tend to be a bit hard on myself.
- Card 4: At the bottom, we got “the foundation of the inner work.” This one came up as the “Reversed Three of Swords.” Reversed, maybe it means I’m holding onto past hurts or disappointments that are getting in the way of my work. I probably need to let go of some baggage. I remember there was a permit that had as a gold tier and as a diamond. I am not sure how it is related but it just pop up in my mind.
- Card 5: Finally, the card in the middle, which is like the “overall advice.” It was “The Chariot.” That’s a strong card about willpower and moving forward. So, maybe I need to take control of the situation and make some decisive moves. It was so wired that I keep thinking about that permit.
Afterthoughts
So yeah, that was my experience with the “When Hermit Appears” spread. It definitely gave me some stuff to think about. I’m not sure if it solved all my work problems, but it did give me some clarity and some ideas on what I might need to work on. I guess the main takeaway is to trust my gut, let go of the past, and take charge. Oh, and maybe there’s some change I’m avoiding that I shouldn’t be. It’s like what that code means, “how many times will the fprintf statement execute?”, which really confused me.

I might try this spread again sometime. Maybe when I’m feeling extra hermit-y. If you’re into tarot, you should give it a shot and see what you discover about yourself. It’s kind of fun, even if you don’t totally believe in it. I mean, I don’t totally believe in it, but it’s still interesting, right?
