Okay, so, the other day I got this crazy idea stuck in my head. I’ve always been fascinated by flight – birds, planes, even those little seed pods that spin down from trees. So, I decided to dedicate a day to exploring that, calling it my “dreams of flight” day.
First, I started with some good old-fashioned research. Nothing too technical, just browsing around for cool stuff related to flying. I watched some videos of birds soaring, you know, those slow-motion ones where you can see every feather move? Totally mesmerizing.
My Paper Airplane Phase
Next, I figured I’d get hands-on. I dug out some paper and started folding. Paper airplanes! It’s been ages since I made one, so I looked up a few different designs online.

- There was the classic dart – super easy, flies straight, mostly.
- Then I tried a “glider” design, which was a bit trickier but supposed to stay in the air longer.
- I even attempted some crazy-looking thing with a ton of folds, but that one… well, let’s just say it didn’t exactly soar.
I spent a good hour just throwing these things around my living room. The dart was okay, the glider was pretty good (when I got the throw right), and the other one… crashed and burned. Literally. It nosedived straight into my coffee table.
Building(trying) Somthing More Advanced
Feeling a bit more ambitious,I decided to do it. I grabbed some cardboard, tape, and some rubber bands – I had this vague idea of making a catapult-launched glider. I do not know what I am doing.
It… didn’t go well. The cardboard was too flimsy, the rubber bands kept snapping, and the whole thing was just a mess. I ended up with a pile of crumpled cardboard and a few rubber band welts on my fingers. Yeah, engineering is hard.
The Big Finale (Kind Of)
Finally, I decided to go outside. It was a nice, breezy day, perfect for… well, I wasn’t sure what, exactly. I took my most successful paper glider with me, the one that actually flew a little bit. I found a small hill, stood at the top, and launched my glider into the wind.
And you know what? It actually flew! Not for very long, maybe ten seconds, but it caught the wind and soared for a bit. It was a tiny, silly thing, but for a moment, I felt that little spark of joy, that feeling of flight. It wasn’t exactly piloting a jet plane, but it was enough. It was my little dream of flight, realized in a small, paper-and-cardboard way.

So that was it * bad for me!
