Okay, so “dreaming bleeding,” right? Sounds kinda wild, but it’s actually something I tried out with lucid dreaming techniques. It all started when I was reading some forum posts online about controlling your dreams.
First, I started keeping a dream journal. Every morning, the moment I woke up, I grabbed my notebook and jotted down anything I could remember, even if it was just a color or a feeling. No detail was too small. At first, it was frustrating – most mornings I drew a blank. But after a week or so, I started remembering more and more.
Then I moved on to reality checks. Throughout the day, I’d stop and ask myself, “Am I dreaming?” I’d look at my hands, try to push my finger through my palm, or check a clock twice to see if the time changed drastically. The idea is to get into the habit so you do it in your dream, too.

Getting to the “Bleeding” Part
The “bleeding” part comes from a specific technique I read about. It’s not literal, of course! It’s about creating a very vivid, almost shocking image in your dream to test your control. The idea is, if you can control something that intense, you can control anything.
So, how did I do it? Well, after about a month of consistent journaling and reality checks, I had my first somewhat lucid dream. I was in a familiar place – my childhood home – but something felt off. I remembered to do a reality check, and sure enough, my finger went right through my palm!
That’s when I tried the “bleeding” technique. I focused on my hand and imagined a small cut appearing. At first, nothing. Then, a faint red line appeared. I concentrated harder, visualizing the blood welling up, drop by drop. It sounds weird, I know, but it worked! It wasn’t painful, just…surreal.
- Keep a dream journal.
- Do reality checks throughout the day.
- Find a vivid image to focus on.
- Practice, practice, practice!
It’s not like I became a dream master overnight. I still have plenty of dreams where I’m just along for the ride. But that one experience, where I made my virtual hand “bleed,” showed me the potential. It was a rush! And It is not that hard. Just follow my steps!
