Okay, so the other day I got really into this whole “animal totem” thing. I’ve been feeling kinda lost and directionless lately, and I stumbled upon some stuff about spirit animals and how they can offer guidance. I decided to focus on the buffalo, because, I don’t know, it just felt… right. Powerful, grounded, you know?
Digging into the Buffalo
First, I started by just Googling “buffalo animal totem.” Lots of websites popped up, talking about abundance, manifestation, and staying grounded. It all sounded pretty good, to be honest. I kept reading about how the buffalo represents provision and not giving up, even when things are tough. That resonated with me big time.
My Little Ritual
Then I thought, “Okay, let’s do something more than just reading.” I decided to create a little ritual, my own way to connect with this buffalo energy. It wasn’t anything fancy. I lit a candle, because fire always makes me feel focused. Then I just sat there, trying to picture a buffalo in my mind.

It was harder than I thought! My mind kept wandering to my to-do list, bills I had to pay, all that boring stuff. But I kept pulling myself back, focusing on the image of a big, strong buffalo. I imagined it standing on a wide-open plain, totally solid and at peace.
- I spent about 15 minutes just breathing and visualizing.
- I also tried to think about what “abundance” really means to me.
- It’s not just about money, right? It’s about feeling secure, having enough of what I need, feeling grateful.
I wrote down some of those thoughts in my journal, just stream-of-consciousness stuff, nothing poetic.
The After-Effects
Honestly, after I finished, I felt… calmer. More centered. I don’t know if it was the buffalo, the candle, or just taking a break from my usual chaotic thoughts, but it helped. I even felt a little surge of motivation to tackle some things I’d been putting off.
I’m not saying I’m suddenly a buffalo expert or anything. But this little experiment, this attempt to connect with the buffalo as a symbol, it made a difference. It’s something I’ll probably keep doing, this whole “animal totem” exploration. It’s a way to remind myself of my own strength and to stay focused on what really matters. Maybe next time I’ll try a different animal, who knows. But for now, the buffalo is my go-to guide.
