Okay, so I’ve been digging into tarot again lately, trying to get a better handle on how the cards can represent feelings. Today, I decided to focus on the Knight of Pentacles. I’ve always seen him as this super grounded, reliable dude, but what does that actually mean in terms of emotions?
First, I grabbed my favorite deck and just shuffled it for a while, thinking about feelings in general. Then, I specifically focused my intention on understanding the Knight of Pentacles as a representation of someone’s feelings. I pulled the card and laid it out in front of me.
My Interpretation Process
- Looked at the imagery: This Knight is sitting on his horse, but they’re both just standing there, steady and solid. He’s holding a pentacle, looking at it carefully. It’s not exciting, but it’s very…present.
- Considered the traditional meanings: Reliability, responsibility, practicality, slow and steady progress. These aren’t exactly fiery passions, are they?
- Journaled about my own experiences: When have I felt like the Knight of Pentacles? It’s usually when I’m feeling calm, committed, and maybe a little bit stubborn! Like I’m in it for the long haul, no matter what.
- Compared it to the Knights:The knight suit is active and full of energy,it wants to go out and do stuff.
So, after all that, here’s what I came up with. If the Knight of Pentacles represents someone’s feelings, I think it means they’re feeling:

- Devoted:They are all in and dedicated to their goals.
- Stable: Not prone to huge emotional swings. They’re a rock.
- Patient: Willing to take the time needed to build something real.
- Practical: They’re showing their feelings through actions, not just words. Think acts of service, being there consistently.
- Maybe a bit reserved: They’re not going to be shouting their feelings from the rooftops. It’s a quieter, more grounded kind of emotion.
- Loyal:Because they’re a dependable knight.
It’s not the most romantic card, I guess. But sometimes, that steady, reliable feeling is exactly what’s needed. It’s the kind of feeling that builds trust and lasts a long time. I realized that sometimes, I actually prefer this kind of feeling to the rollercoaster of some of the other cards!
I think I’ll keep working with this card, maybe pulling it in readings specifically about feelings to see how it plays out in different situations. It’s definitely given me a new perspective on this steadfast Knight.
