Okay, so last night was kinda weird, right? I mean, I woke up in the middle of the night, and I swear I heard knocking. Like, distinct knocks. Thing is, I’m the only one who lives in my apartment. So, naturally, my brain goes straight to… you know, the spooky stuff.
I’ve been diving into all sorts of… well, let’s just call them “alternative” topics lately. Spirituality, dreams, the whole shebang. And I remembered reading somewhere that hearing knocking in your sleep can mean something spiritually. I figured, “Hey, might as well look into it.”
First thing I did this morning was hit up Google. I searched “hearing knocking in your sleep spiritual meaning,” and woah, did I get a lot of hits. Some sites were all “It’s a message from the other side!” and others were like, “Nah, it’s just your pipes.” Gotta love the internet, right?

But I kept digging. I noticed a few common themes popping up. A lot of people said it could be a sign from your spirit guides, trying to get your attention. Like, maybe you’re on the wrong path, or you’re ignoring something important.
Then I thought, okay, let’s get practical. Is it REALLY the pipes? I went around my apartment, listening to the walls. I tried to recreate the sound. Nothing. Plus, the knocking I heard last night was definitely coming from my bedroom door. Super creepy.
So, I decided to meditate on it. I sat down, closed my eyes, and just focused on the feeling I had when I heard the knocking. Honestly, it wasn’t a scary feeling. More like…urgent? Like someone was trying to get through to me.
After my meditation, I did some journaling. Just free-writing, letting whatever came to mind flow onto the page. And you know what kept coming up? This old project I’ve been putting off for months. A creative thing I really want to do, but I keep making excuses.
That’s when it hit me. Maybe the knocking wasn’t some spooky ghost thing. Maybe it was just my own intuition, my own soul, banging on the door of my consciousness, saying, “Hey! Remember that thing you’re supposed to be doing? Get on it!”

So, what am I doing now? I’m making a plan to finally tackle that project. I’m setting aside time each day, breaking it down into smaller steps. And you know what? I already feel a sense of relief. Like that urgent feeling has calmed down a bit.
- Did I solve the mystery of the knocking? Maybe.
- Am I going to pretend it was definitely spirit guides and not just a weird dream? Probably.
- Am I finally going to stop procrastinating and do the thing I’ve been wanting to do? Absolutely.
Moral of the story? Sometimes, the most spiritual messages are the ones that come from within. And sometimes, a little bit of Googling and self-reflection can be surprisingly helpful. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a project to start.
