Okay, so the other day I was messing around with some astrology stuff, trying to figure out what the stars had in store for someone born on November 16, 1980. Yeah, I know, it’s a bit out there, but I find this stuff kind of fascinating.
First thing I did was punch in the birth date, November 16, 1980, into one of those online horoscope generators. You know the kind, where you just type in the date and it spits out a bunch of information. Turns out, if you’re born on that day, you’re a Scorpio. Not a huge surprise, I guess, since that’s pretty common knowledge for mid-November babies.
But then I started digging deeper. I wanted to calculate something called a “destiny number” or “life path number”. It’s supposed to reveal some deep truths about your personality and life’s purpose. Sounds kind of intense, right?

There are different ways to calculate it. One way is to add up all the digits of your birth date. So, for November 16, 1980, it’s like this: 1+1+1+6+1+9+8+0 = 27. Then you reduce that number by adding its digits: 2+7 = 9. So, the destiny number, in this case, could be interpreted as 9.
- Step 1: Entered the birth date (November 16, 1980) into an online horoscope thing.
- Step 2: Learned that the person is a Scorpio, which is basic astrology.
- Step 3: Decided to figure out the “destiny number” which is a bit more involved.
- Step 4: Added up all the digits of the birth date: 1+1+1+6+1+9+8+0 = 27.
- Step 5: Reduced that number: 2+7 = 9.
Another method involves reducing each part of the birth date individually. For example:
November is the 11th month, so 1+1=2.
The day is 16, so 1+6=7.
The year is 1980, so 1+9+8+0=18, and then 1+8=9.

Then, according to one site, you add up these numbers: 2 (for November) + 7 (for the 16th) + 9 (for 1980) = 18, then reduce that again: 1+8=9. Seems like we always land on 9!
But then I discovered another method that used the full birth name to calculate a number. That method involves reducing each name to a single digit, adding those up, and reducing that sum to a single digit. I didn’t have a name to work with for this experiment, so I just stuck with the birth date method.
What does it all mean?
I’m still trying to figure out what a destiny number of 9 really means for someone born on November 16, 1980. I read a bunch of different interpretations, and some of them mentioned that people with this destiny number are driven by a desire for deeper understanding and personal transformation. They might be super intuitive and empathetic. Makes sense for a Scorpio, maybe? Also, there are so many claims online that Sunday is the day of the week on 16, November 1980.
Anyways, it was a fun little exercise. I’m not sure I buy into all of this astrology stuff completely, but it’s definitely interesting to explore. Maybe I’ll try to calculate my own destiny number next and see what that reveals. Or maybe I’ll just go back to watching cat videos. Who knows?

Oh, I also looked into calculating compatibility between zodiac signs and tried to figure out which career paths might be good for a Scorpio born on this date. There’s a whole universe of information out there, it’s pretty overwhelming. I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. It is just the beginning of my journey of learning astrology.
I’ve also learned how to calculate the tarot card online according to the date of birth. It is very easy and convenient to search these days with so many free online tools. Maybe I will dig into it next time.
I also found some yearly horoscopes for people born on this date. It’s wild to think that the position of the stars on your birthday could supposedly influence your entire year. There’s a lot of conflicting information out there, though, so it’s hard to know what to believe. I guess you just have to take it all with a grain of salt and see what resonates with you personally. What a journey!
Anyway, that’s my little adventure into the world of astrology. It was a good way to kill some time, and I learned a few things along the way. Maybe I’ll revisit this sometime in the future and see if I can make more sense of it all. But for now, I think I need a break from all these numbers and star signs.
Cheers!
