Ok, I got it, here is my blog post:
Why I Ching 5? My Hands-On Experience
Alright folks, buckle up! Today I’m diving into my recent deep dive: I Ching 5. Not gonna lie, I was a bit intimidated at first. I mean, ancient Chinese text? Fortune telling? Seemed a bit out there for this old dog, but I figured, hey, why not?

So, I started where everyone starts: research. I spent a good chunk of time just reading about the I Ching, its history, the hexagrams, all that jazz. Honestly, my eyes glazed over a few times. There’s a LOT of info out there. I grabbed a couple of different translations to compare interpretations because, well, why not.
Next up: the coins! I decided to go with the traditional method of using coins to cast the hexagrams. I found three old pennies lying around, decided they had enough history. I assigned heads to 3, tails to 2, added them up, and followed the usual rules.
I had a question in mind. Something work-related, nothing too serious, just looking for a little guidance. I focused on the question, took a few deep breaths (you gotta get into the mood, right?), and started tossing those pennies. Six times. Recorded each result carefully.
Turns out, I got Hexagram 5 – Waiting (Nourishment). At first, I was like, “Okay… waiting for what?” So, I consulted my translations and read the interpretations. It talked about patience, not rushing things, and preparing for a favorable outcome. Interesting.
Then the fun part. I started thinking about how it applied to my situation. The hexagram seemed to be telling me that I was on the right track, but I needed to be patient and not try to force things. To focus on building a solid foundation.

I decided to take the advice. Instead of pushing hard for a quick result, I focused on the smaller steps. Made sure I had all my ducks in a row. And you know what? Things started to fall into place, exactly like the I Ching suggested!
Now, am I a full-blown I Ching convert? Probably not. But it was a fascinating experiment. I see it more as a tool for reflection and gaining a different perspective. It forced me to slow down, think things through, and consider different possibilities.
Will I do it again? Absolutely. Maybe with a different question, or just to see what comes up. It’s a fun way to shake things up and challenge your own thinking. And who knows, maybe the I Ching actually knows something!
