Okay, so today I messed around with the I Ching, specifically hexagram 15. Thought I’d share how it went down.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed my three coins. I like to use these old Chinese coins I picked up at a flea market ages ago – gives it a bit of an authentic feel, you know?
Then, I found a quiet spot in my living room. I don’t like a lot of distractions when I’m doing this. Needed to focus and all that.

The Coin Toss
I assigned heads as 3 and tails as 2. This is pretty standard, from what I’ve read.
- Heads = 3
- Tails = 2
Then, I started tossing. Six times, shaking the coins in my hands each time, really thinking about the question I had in mind. It was something about a work project I’m a bit stuck on.
Building the Hexagram
Each toss gave me a number, which I used to draw a line.
I have write down Every toss number:

- First toss:2+2+3=7,I got a solid line.
- Second toss:2+3+3=8,I got a broken line.
- Third toss:2+2+2=6,I got a broken line.
- Fourth toss:3+3+3=9,I got a solid line.
- Fifth toss:2+2+3=7,I got a solid line.
- Sixth toss:3+3+2=8,I got a broken line.
After six tosses, I had built my hexagram from the bottom up. And bam, there it was – Hexagram 15.
Making Sense of It
I Then looked up Hexagram 15 in my I Ching book. I’ve got this worn-out copy that’s been super helpful. It talked about modesty and balance, and how being humble can lead to success, even when things are tough.
My Takeaway
Honestly, it resonated with my situation. Maybe I’ve been pushing too hard on this project, not listening enough to other people’s ideas. The I Ching reminded me to step back, be a bit more open, and not let my ego get in the way.
So, that’s my I Ching experiment for the day. Felt good to slow down, reflect, and get a different perspective. Might not have all the answers, but it definitely gave me something to chew on.
