Okay, so I’ve been diving into this whole “spider totem animal” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started out just kinda curious, you know? I’d been seeing spiders everywhere, and not just, like, in the bathtub. I mean, everywhere. So, I figured, maybe there’s something to this.
My first step? Good ol’ internet research. I spent, I don’t know, hours just scrolling through websites, reading articles, forum posts, everything I could find. I wanted to get a feel for what people were saying about spiders as spirit animals, power animals, totems… all that stuff.
The information gathering really took over my evenings. After work, I’d grab some tea, settle into my comfy chair, and get lost in this world of symbolism and animal guides. It was pretty overwhelming at first, honestly. So many different interpretations, so many cultures with their own unique takes on the spider.

Digging Deeper
After the initial info-dump, I decided I needed to get more organized. I started taking notes. Just jotting down key ideas, recurring themes, anything that resonated with me. I used a simple notebook, nothing fancy. The act of physically writing things down helped me process everything I was learning.
My note-taking process was, well, messy. I had scribbles, crossed-out words, arrows pointing everywhere. But it was my mess, and it made sense to me. I started to see connections between different ideas, different interpretations of the spider’s symbolism. Creativity, patience, weaving your own destiny… it was all starting to click.
- Creativity: I started experimenting with some new art projects, just letting my intuition guide me.
- Patience: This one was tougher. I’m not a naturally patient person, but I started consciously trying to slow down, to observe, to wait for the right moment.
- Weaving my destiny: This felt like the biggest takeaway. The idea that I have the power to create my own life, to build something beautiful and intricate, just like a spider’s web.
I began observing spiders more intentionally, and not with a phobia mind you. I’d watch them build their webs, I’d look at the patterns, I’d even try to, you know, connect with them on some level. It might sound silly, but it felt important. I felt like I was learning something from them, just by observing their behavior.
Then I try to apply these into my life. Try to use my creativity skills, try to be * I did create my own destiny. It was not perfect but I made it!
So, that’s where I’m at with this whole spider totem animal journey. It’s been a process of research, reflection, and a whole lot of trying to get over my initial “ick” factor. It’s still a work in progress, of course, but I feel like I’m definitely learning something, growing in some way. And that’s pretty cool.
