Okay, so, today I messed around with the numbers 62 and 36. It wasn’t anything fancy, just playing around to see what I could do.
First, I added them together. You know, just a simple 62 + 36. I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen—I like doing things the old-fashioned way sometimes—and wrote it down. Carried the one, and boom, got 98.
The Adding Part
- Started by writing the numbers down, one above the other.
- Added the rightmost digits (2 and 6) which is 8.
- Then added the next digits (6 and 3), that is 9
- Put it all together and result is 98.
Then I thought, “What about subtraction?” So, I subtracted 36 from 62. Again, paper and pen. This time I had to borrow a bit from the tens place.

The Subtracting Bit
- Lined ’em up again, 62 on top, 36 below.
- Had to borrow from the 6, making it 5, and turning the 2 into 12.
- Subtracted 6 from 12: get 6.
- Subtracted 3 from 5 (the borrowed 6): get 2.
- ended up with 26.
After that,I try to multiply.I find it is a big number,So I use calculator.
Multiply Time
- Input 62 36 in my phone calculator.
- Got result 2232 very quickly.
Lastly,I tried to Divide 62 by 36, and I know it will not a whole number.I use calculator too.
Divide Part
- Use my calculator to find 62 / 36
- Got 1.7222222… a long decimal.
It was a simple process, using only basic arithmetic and just by experimenting. I learned how to do this basic arithmetic.
