Okay, so, the other day, I got this wild idea to mess around with “dreaming about witchcraft.” Sounds kinda out there, right? But I was curious, so I decided to give it a shot and see what would happen. Here’s how it all went down.
Getting Started: Setting the Mood
First things first, I wanted to get myself in the right headspace. You know, make things a little spooky, a little magical. So, I did a few things:
- Dimmed the lights. Gotta have that mysterious vibe, you know? Bright overhead lights just kill the mood.
- Lit some candles. I went with some dark purple and black ones I had lying around. Figured those colors felt witchy enough.
- Put on some ambient music. Nothing with lyrics, just some creepy, atmospheric sounds. There are tons of playlists for this kind of thing.
- Grabbed a notebook and pen. I wanted to jot down anything that came to mind, any images or feelings, before I forgot them.
With the room all set up, I felt like I was in a mini witch’s den. Cheesy, maybe, but it helped!

The Dreaming Part: Letting Go
Now for the main event. This part was all about relaxing and letting my mind wander. Here’s the strategy.
I laid down in bed, got comfy, and closed my eyes.
I started by taking some deep breaths. Inhaling slowly, exhaling slowly. Just trying to clear my head of all the day’s junk.
Then, I started to visualize. I pictured myself in a dark forest, with ancient trees and a full moon overhead. I imagined the smell of damp earth and the sound of rustling leaves.
I imagined a small cottage in the distance, with smoke curling from the chimney and a warm, inviting glow in the windows. Inside, I pictured a witch brewing a potion, stirring a cauldron with a long wooden spoon.

I let these images drift and change. I didn’t try to control them, just observed them like watching a movie in my head.
I kept repeating the phrase “dreaming of witchcraft” in my mind, like a mantra. I hoped this would guide my subconscious towards the theme.
Waking Up and Recording
I tried to kept that forest and cottage image with a witch and do my visualization stuff, but it might be failed, but don’t worry, that’s normal. I had to do it for several nights.
I woke up naturally, and I did feel strange and kept thinking about a dark forest, just feeling.

And then, I opened my eyes and grabbed my notebook right away, then started writing everything down. Anything I could remember, even if it seemed silly or random.
What I could remember and I wrote down just simple and fragmented stuff, “dark forest,” “glowing eyes,” “a whisper I couldn’t understand.” But hey, it was something! And it felt kind of cool, like tapping into a hidden part of my mind. It was a fun little experiment, and who knows, maybe I’ll try it again sometime and see what other weird stuff my brain comes up with!
