Okay, so the other day I kept seeing the number 54 everywhere. Like, I’d glance at the clock: 2:54. Then I’d get a receipt for $5.40. It was weird, right? I started thinking maybe it was a sign or something, so I looked it up. Turns out, it’s what some people call an “angel number.”
I’m not usually one for this kind of stuff, but I figured, why not play along? So I decided to treat it like a little experiment. I made a note to myself to pay extra attention to my thoughts and feelings whenever I saw 54.
My 54 Experiment
- Day 1: Saw it a couple of times, mostly on clocks. Didn’t really feel anything different, just kind of noticed it.
- Day 2: This is where it got a little interesting. I saw 54 on a license plate while I was driving and thinking about a project I was stuck on. Suddenly, I had this idea pop into my head for how to solve it! Coincidence? Maybe. But still cool.
- Day 3: Saw it a few more times. Once when I was feeling kinda down, and I took it as a little nudge to be more positive. I actually tried to consciously shift my thoughts, and you know what? It helped a bit.
I continued the habit of keeping track of those moments when I was seeing 54 and connecting it with my thoughts.

I’ve been doing this for a few weeks now. I can’t say I’ve had any earth-shattering revelations, but it’s been a fun little exercise in mindfulness. I’m paying more attention to my thoughts and feelings in general, which is a good thing.
I’ve also been trying to trust my intuition a little more. Whenever I see 54, I take a moment to check in with myself and see if there’s anything I need to pay attention to. It’s like a little reminder to listen to my gut.
I ended up using the number 54 as a little prompt to be more present and to trust my intuition. Has it changed my life? Not drastically. But has it been a fun and slightly helpful little experiment? Yeah, I think so.
