Okay, so today I decided to mess around with Hexagram 60, which is all about, like, limits and boundaries. I’ve been feeling kinda all over the place lately, so I figured it might be, you know, helpful to get some perspective.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed my trusty old deck of cards. I know, I know, some people use coins or yarrow stalks, but cards are just easier for me. I shuffled them a bunch, really trying to focus on what’s been bugging me – too much going on, not enough focus, that kind of thing.
The Reading
Then I dealt out the cards to create the hexagram. Six lines, bottom to top, that’s is the key. I won’t get into all the nitty-gritty of how I converted the cards to lines (it’s a whole process!), but basically, I ended up with Hexagram 60, “Limitation.” It’s made up of the trigram for Water over the trigram for Lake. Seems to make sense, right?

Line by Line
- Bottom line: Was, like, a solid line. From what I remember that generally means staying put, not pushing things. Felt right.
- Second line: Also solid. Again, more about sticking to the plan, I guess.
- Third line: Broken line. I figured that indicated some restlessness, maybe feeling restricted. That’s definetly me.
- Fourth line: Another broken one. Okay, more of the same, maybe? Feeling the squeeze.
- Fifth line: Solid! Finally, some action! This is where I maybe, felt I could use some of my own limitations, my structure, to my advantage.
- Top line: And… back to broken. Maybe a warning not to go too far with the restrictions, you know? Find a balance.
Putting It Together
So, the whole vibe I got from this was about recognizing my limits, but not letting them totally trap me. I’ve been trying to do everything at once, and that’s just not working. This hexagram, for me, was a nudge to set some boundaries, prioritize, and ditch the stuff that’s not really important. But also, it reminded me not to get too rigid. Still gotta leave room for, like, spontaneity and fun. I even wrote some of the key points on a sticky note, that I will stick to my computer, I think it will help me alot.
Next Steps
I’m going to try to be more mindful of where I’m putting my energy this week. Less scrolling, more focused work. Less saying “yes” to everything, more saying “yes” to the things that really matter. We’ll see how it goes! It’s not like a magic spell, but it’s a good reminder to, you know, keep things in check.
I’m happy with my work today.
