Okay, so today I messed around with “hexagram 48,” which, if you’re not into the I Ching, is called “The Well.” It’s all about resources and nurturing, that kind of stuff. I’ve been trying to get more in tune with, you know, ancient wisdom and all that, so I figured, why not give this a shot?
First thing I did was read up on it. You know, just Googled around a bit, trying to get a feel for what it’s supposed to represent. Lots of talk about community, sharing, and making sure the well doesn’t run dry – pretty straightforward.
My Little Experiment
I was trying to figure how to apply that ancient concept to the modern world. The first thing I did was make a small journal entry:

- I made a coffe for my wife.
- I helped an elderly lady at the grocery.
- I shared an interesting online article with some friends.
Then, I spent some time just thinking about my own “wells” – the things that nourish me, like my relationships, my hobbies, and even just my alone time. It got me thinking about where I might be neglecting some of those areas, or maybe even drawing too much from one well and not enough from others.
After that, I tried to do a few small things to kind of, embody the spirit of the hexagram.I make a cup of coffe for my wife, who are working very hard every sigle day!
I also had a thought of an old lady i met in the grocery, she can’t even carry her own food,so I gave a hand.
And finally, I share an article with my fridends,I know sharing is a kind of sprit.
It was a small experiment, but it felt like a good way to connect with something bigger than myself, even if it was just for a day. I’m no expert, but it’s kind of cool to think about these ancient ideas and how they might still be relevant today.
