Okay, so the other day I kept seeing the number 8989 everywhere. Like, on license plates, receipts, even the time on my microwave! It felt like more than just a coincidence, you know?
I’ve always been a little curious about angel numbers, so I decided to look it up. I just grabbed my phone and typed “8989 angel number” into Google.
Lots of websites popped up, but I kinda skimmed through them. Most of them were talking about change, new beginnings, and trusting your intuition. Things were generally positive, it seemed. It felt like the universe might be sending me a message. But, I wasn’t sure what I should do with this message, you know?

My Little Experiment
So, I decided I was gonna do a little experiment. My first idea was to just pay more attention to my surroundings.
- First, I started noticing things more. Like, really noticing. The way the light hit the trees, the little conversations happening around me, even the smell of coffee from a nearby shop.
- Then, I tried to be more present. No more zoning out while scrolling on my phone. I tried to actively listen when people talked to me, and really engage with whatever I was doing, even if it was just washing dishes.
- I also started saying “yes” more often. A friend asked me to go to a pottery class (which I’d normally skip), and I went! It was kinda messy and fun. Another friend suggested a new restaurant, and it was incredible.
- I started to write my instuition down in a notebook.
Honestly, at first, it felt a little silly. But after a few days, I started to feel…different. Lighter, maybe? More open. I wasn’t sure if it was the “8989” thing, or just the fact that I was paying more attention to my life, but something was shifting.
I kept up my little experiment for a about a week. The 8989s didn’t magically solve all my problems, of course. But I did feel more connected to myself and the world around me. I even had a couple of cool opportunities pop up – a chance to work on a project I was really excited about, and a reconnection with an old friend. Coincidence? Maybe. But it felt pretty good.
So, that’s my 8989 story. It wasn’t some huge, dramatic revelation, but it was a nice little reminder to slow down, pay attention, and be open to new things. And who knows, maybe the universe was trying to tell me something after all.
