Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “God Number” thing for Rubik’s Cubes, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I saw this “41 God Number” title and thought, “Alright, let’s dive in!”
My Scramble Journey Begins
First, I grabbed my trusty 3×3 cube. It’s a bit worn, the stickers are peeling, but it’s seen me through countless solves (and frustrations!). I started by just… scrambling it. I mean, really messing it up. No fancy algorithms, just random twists and turns until it looked like a complete mess.
Then, I started trying to solve it. And… failed. Miserably. Again and again.
Documenting the Mess
I figured I needed to be a bit more methodical. So, I grabbed a notebook and a pen. Every time I scrambled the cube, I tried to write down the moves I was making. It looked like gibberish: R U R’ U’ F2 D… you get the idea. The problem? I kept losing track! My notes were a chaotic jumble, almost as bad as the cube itself.
Trying and Failing(and trying again)
- Attempt 1: Got the white cross, then completely lost it.
- Attempt 2: Managed to get two layers done, but the top layer was a disaster.
- Attempt 3: Somehow, I made it worse than when I started. How is that even possible?!
Okay I failed many times…
I tried so many time today,It’s just hard!
Small wins
After what felt like hours, I finally had a breakthrough! I managed to solve the cube using a beginner’s method I found . It took me, I don’t know, maybe 50 moves? Definitely not 41. But hey, it was a solve!
Then I tried to use some algorthims to see, if it can make me some progress.
Then I just spent lots of time and got it.
Finally!
So, did I achieve a “41 God Number” solve? Nope. Not even close. But I learned a lot about the process, about patience, and about how easily a seemingly simple puzzle can turn into a brain-bending challenge.I will try it next time.
